RC702-GESTM4 is a network termination unit for connecting Gigabit Ethernet network or aggregating 8 Fast Ethernet across SDH STM-4 circuits. It enables carriers and service providers to provide broadband Ethernet based services by utilizing the existing SDH infrastructure. By working in pairs or opposite with RC702-GE, RC702 devices give carriers and service providers flexible Gigabit Ethernet over STM-4 or Fast Ethernet over two STM-4 aggregation solutions. Optionally, carriers can choose from VC12, VC3 or VC4 encapsulation to provide gradually from 2Mbps to 1000Mbps speed for final users.
RC702 devices are widely employed and used by carriers to provide leased line services for enterprises, governments and railways. They are also always considered as a cost-efficient approach of IP DSLAM backhauling and wireless/WiMAX backhauling. RC702 adopts modular design for the Gigabit Ethernet interface and different Gigabit Ethernet extension card is used in various applications such as point to point Ethernet transportation and point to multi point Ethernet aggregation.
For point to point Gigabit over STM-4, Raisecom provides both cost-effective and SLA assured solutions. The cost-effective solution presents carriers with a transparent Gigabit Ethernet channel with up to 1000Mbps throughput, and the SLA assured solution gives carriers an enhanced Ethernet over SDH solution with industry leading functions such as VLAN, Q-in-Q, QoS, Rate limiting and etc.
For Fast Ethernet aggregation application, RC702-GESTM4 is deployed in central office and works oppositely with RC702-GE which are at customer premises, by using the two STM-4 circuits of RC702-GESTM4, up to 8 Fast Ethernet traffics can be aggregated to the Gigabit Ethernet interface.
RC702-GESTM4 is equipped with combo GE interface (1*SFP and 1*RJ45) and redundant SFP based STM-4 interfaces. Carriers can also choose from different fiber interface types to support from 2km to 120km transmission distances and both single-strand fiber and dual-strand fiber are available. RC702 supports out-of-band management by command line configuration and management on console port and SNMP interface. It also supports in-band remote management of remote RC702-GESTM by using the network port. It is a 1U-high, 19-inch wide standalone device in metal enclosure. It is available with dual redundant AC or DC power supplies to ensure the most uptime.
