ATD's Category 5, 100 Ohm, ScTP patch cord is designed to maintain the shielding effectiveness on ATD's ScTP Category 5 connector, and complies with the requirements set by TIA. The shielding is used as an extra defense against Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI), commonly present around power cables, fluorescent lights, and heavy machinery.
